Historic Change Coming To Bais Eliyahu

Ever since its inception the Bais Eliyahu Bais Medrash of Bais Medrash Govoha has been home to Chaburas learning a wide array of Mesechtos, Halachos and other Limudim. One Limud that was not being learned, was the Yeshiva’s Mesechta-as the Chaburas of Bais Eliyahu were primarily geared to those who had moved on from the Yeshiva’s Limud. With the continuous growth of BMG, the need for more seating becomes greater every Zman. The greatest need for seats is always in the Batei Medrashim that learn the Yeshiva’s Limud as almost all of the new Bachurim entering BMG learn the Yeshiva’s Limud. On this note, the Yeshiva has placed signs in the various Batei Medrashim over Bein Hazemanim that Bais Eliyahu will no longer be for other Limudim but rather will be set aside for the learning of the Yeshiva’s Mesechta.

  1. Is anybody home? Don't they realize that the two otzer hasforims adjacent to Bais Eliyahu are vital to the yungerleit learning halacha and other limudim? Guys learning yeshiva mesechta need access to a few hundred seforim at best (on a regular basis). It is the yungerleit in Bais Eliyahu that can be found constatly using the thousands or seforim in the otzer to review relevant mefarshim, research a halacha or teshuva in a rare sefer, or look up a new sefer on a miktzoah they are learning. The otzrei seforim are their life blood!

Either somebody really dropped the ball, or there is a plan in place for the yungerleit to have easy access to the thousands of seforim they need. I sincerely hope that it is the latter.

  2. If you are refering to the small oitzer, there are only a handful of guys there at a time. The main oitzer has a constant flow of B"E yungerleit, at all hours of the day.
