PHOTOS: It’s been a nightmare for commuters traveling the Garden State Parkway North this morning, with delays of close to two hours due to a fatal accident involving a construction truck.
The delays were first reported on our News Alerts at about 7:40 AM about police activity at mile marker 120. Traffic was at a standstill for approximately 12 miles in both the local and express lanes.
A commuter tells TLS there was a Medical Examiner on the scene shortly after 9 AM.
Only the left lane is blocked for the investigation as of this report, but there are still heavy delays reported.

OLD BRIDGE — A motorist was killed on the Garden State Parkway this morning in a single car accident in Old Bridge, State Police said.
The accident, in the Parkway’s northbound lanes just north of exit 120, has closed one lane and backed up commute traffic at least six miles, according to the Turnpike Authority.
State Police are investigating, a trooper from the agency’s Holmdel station said.
