  1. This is really not good. A few years ago the area was infested with gang members but by and large they kept to themselves. Now the area is full of frum yidden. This is the fourth robbery(that I know of) in Hearthstone in the past few weeks.

  2. unless we are going to step up and organize our own neighbourhood patrols and also invest in cameras for the back yards and alarms in homes, we are not going to stop the rate in crime.

DONT RELY ON LPW TO STOP THIS ACTIVITY IN TOWN. WE NEED TO GET THE MESSAGE TO THE CULPIRITS THAT THEY WILL NOT GET ” FREE PASS FROM JAIL CARD” FROM THE RESIDENTS OF LAKEWOOD.

THE SYSTEM DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POLICE OFFICERS TO DEAL WITH THE GANGS, DRUGS AND MURDERES BUT THEY HAVE ENOUGH TO GIVE TICKETS ON FOREST

AND THE LPW DOES NOT WANT ANYONES DIRECT HELP.

the chief does not “Luv” LCSW. He LUVS Chaverim.

  3. While I am, of course, upset at the criminals, we have to know that when we move into bad neighborhoods, it’s not surprising when there’s crime. All kinds of crime in the Park and Ridge area, and now this. Lowlives don’t just disappear when the middle class moves in!

  4. Oh, come on, #6. I’m in Lakewood a really long time. When I used to drive through the Park/Ridge area, it was always scary, and I don’t scare easily. When I heard that we were building in that area (when they were carving out E. 8th, E. 9th, etc.), I was totally floored. I was wondering how anyone could move there. We all knew it was a bad neighborhood. Another comment above mentioned the gangs in Hearthstone. People know without any list.

  5. ANOTHER INCDENT DUE TO THE LOWLIVES, GANGS, AND MURDERES THAT COULD NOT CARE LESS WHO THEY RENT TO AS LONG AS THEY GET $$ THERE READY TO RUIN THERE TOWN (I AM NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO RENT TO YIDEN BUT RENT TO NORMAL HARD WORKIG PEOPLE)

  6. To #2
You definitely should not rely on the LPW to do the job for you. That is because LPW stands for Lakewood Public Works! Seems you’re very obsessed with those letters lately!
As for the comment from “school teacher”; I’m glad you think you know Lakewood. The Hearthstone area has been one of the quitest areas since all of Dweks homes were sold and the garbage in them discarded. FYI that is already a few years. Why are you talking about Park and Ridge when Hearthstone is the subject?!

  7. Lived in Lakewood for many years and watch it go to trash. I currenty live in a half frum half investor condo complex. I get to listen to circus music, hear beer bottle thrown in the garbage, horns blowing at all hours, geez the neighbors even have Farm animals – goats in a condo complex – Coventry square. Please investors, stop renting to the trash!!! Buy my unit! We will gladly leave for a reasonable price!!! Not inflated, just fair market! Stop renting and you can solve many problems. Stop hiring the women to clean and care for your kids the men to work on your sites or businesses!

  8. Bad neighborhoods in Lakewood? You must be kidding. It’s a great, safe to live. People are so friendly, and they all take care of their homes. Also, they drive really, really well. I’ve never seen anyone on their cell phones or distracted while driving; also, there’s never been anyone hit by a car while walking. If you don’t believe me, just look at the statistics in lakewood, and you’ll see that this is one of the best place to live in NJ. I’m SO happy we all live here.

  9. if people only took greater discretion in who they rented out to and kept up with what was going on at their properties, these situations would not be occuring

  10. I still remember the days as a kid from Brooklyn (1970’s) I thought it was so cool when we went to Lakewood fror Shabbos that we could leave our car doors unlocked.

  11. #6… before you move in you should call the police to ask questions about any criminal complaints or reports in the area or even on the particular street. My realtor told me that when I moved out of Lkwd and yours should have also.
    #13… I’m loving the sarcasm!

  12. It will not completely deter criminals but if you lock every window when you leave your house, as well as lock the sliding door and put a bar down on the other side of the slider it should reduce break ins somewhat. You don’t have to live in a “bad” neighbhorhood to experience break ins, they occur in all kinds of neighborhoods, upscale as well as the opposite. Be proactive, lock up.
