[COMMUNICATED] It is the dreaded disease that almost everyone in this generation has been affected by: cancer.
Those who have dealt closely with the illness, however, know that the physical ailments are only half the battle. Cancer takes a harsh financial toll, often leaving large families with no way to pay the most basic bills.
Assaf Gad, of Tel Tzion, had to leave his job when he got sick. His wife Chana spends her days and nights by his hospital bedside. Their children come home from school each day to babysitters. Their parents’ presence is sorely missed. As is the presence of warm clothing, decent shoes, and chicken dinners.
In a heartbreaking video, little Tzippy recounts help that her family has received from ICSN, the Israel Cancer Support Network. “They cook yummy food and send it to us,” she says, her large brown eyes gazing straight into the eyes of the viewer.
Donations are being accepted for her family now via The Chesed Fund. Funds collected will go toward helping Tzippy’s parents to provide her and her siblings with the essentials which many healthy people take for granted.
Donations also go toward other families affected by cancer, including sick children who need winter coats, and ill mothers who just need a ride to chemo.
