A Frum Department of Public Works employee doing his rounds discovered tens of Seforim in a recycling bin he was collecting, TLS has learned.
Mordechai Holder was just doing his job last week when he noticed the piles of Seforim inside the recycling bin belonging to a local school.
“It was a friday and I was picking up the recylcing for schools,” Mordechai tells TLS. “I usually check the can to see if there was anything that didn’t belong, it was then I noticed two Chumashim in the recycling bin of a local Bais Yaakov.”
At first, Mordechai thought it was a fluke, and just gave them to a woman dropping off soda for the students. But then he noticed a whole lot more Seforim.
“I shut everything down,” says Mordechai, “and explained to my partner the situation.”
He then went through every can until he was sure he got them all.
With the Seforim in hand, Holder went to the Yeshivah to return them.
“I brought them to the main office, where the staff looked at me completely baffled as to why a DPW employee is holding Chumashim,” says Mordechai.
Needless to say, the staff were extremely grateful for his efforts.
“Baruch Hashem he was at the right place at the right time,” a witness told TLS.
