As first reported on TLS Status, a Lakewood resident went through a harrowing experience last week when he was carjacked by two gunmen while in Jackson, Mississippi.
The resident tells TLS he was sitting in a rental vehicle at a property in Mississippi when he heard a bang on his window. Looking up, he sees a man pointing a gun at him. He then looked to the passenger’s side window and sees another man pointing a gun at him.
”My first instinct was to put the car in reverse,” the resident said, “but I noticed that they had blocked me in with their vehicle.” He says he was unable to go forward due to a cement blockade at the building.
“So I got out of the vehicle, and they told me to drop the keys,” he relayed. “I said I needed to get a religious item from my trunk, but they again pointed a gun at me and said to drop the keys. So I dropped the keys and they sped off with the vehicle.”
The victim says he ran into the building to try and get another vehicle to chase the suspects down, but a colleague stopped him. Police responded approximately 45 minutes later to take the report, the victim said.
“If anyone finds a Tallis and Tefillin in Mississippi, please let the Scoop know,” he said.
I am trying to digest this. Did you say that it took the Police 45 minutes???
All kidding aside, I think we really really need Mashiach now.
The people in rural Mississippi are very nice. Jackson is a disaster. If your there for real estate don’t bother. Its a failing (failed) city that will only get worse.
Property values will continue to drop.
yes…that certainly prompts the need for moshiach! u are so on target!! (what shayichus??)
What happened? Waze took him to the wrong Jackson??
What’s in Mississippi? Yes, crime like this is common in low income crime ridden neighborhoods. Did I read right?! Two people were pointing a gun at him and he wanted to reverse? It’s time for us to start thinking about our own actions.
Oy gevalt
Oy nebach! So scary!!!!!
Yeah why did it take police 45 min… that is a little long! I’m glad he’s safe tho!
