[ADVERTORIAL] The doctor’s waiting room is packed; she’d been sitting there for 20 minutes already. Slowly, she reaches over and picks up a magazine. The first article is an in depth study of the current trend in jeans. She turns the page. Recipes. Three ways to spice up the bacon. Next page. How to introduce Rover to the new baby. She sighs and puts down the magazine. The woman sitting next to her is deeply engrossed in her smart phone. What exactly was so interesting there? Faking a stretch she gets a good look at the screen. A picture of cheesecake with the caption “Shavuos Planning Headquarters.”
Must be a kosher food blog. The picture on the screen changes. My Shvigger and Me, says the caption. Ok, not a food blog. As her neighbor swipes at the screen, the next picture appears – Rhode Island Getaway. I could use that. She leans forward trying to read the name of the website. “Yideeda.com, Premiere Magazine for Orthodox Jewish Women.”
Her neighbor suddenly looks up and catches her staring. Sheepishly she says, “I went on for the free Coach bag but I can’t seem to stop.” Free Coach bag? She must’ve looked confused because the woman continues. “If you answer the question you get entered into a monthly raffle for a free gift. This month the gift is a Coach bag. Can’t hurt to try, right?” Right. She reaches for her phone. Can’t hurt to try. And anyway, she just wants to get a better look at the cheesecake…

#1 i have been saying for years there needs to be a kosher site for frum women to go to if not there’s trouble. You want to learn and your wife is sitting in an office with complete access to the web there better be wholesome sites for her to go to. If not she will be hanging out in social media and you where thibgs can go from there
