Former BOE Member Appointed to Fill Vacated Seat

boe 2014A former Board of Education member has been appointed today to fill the vacated seat on the Board, a Board official confirmed to TLS.

Ada Gonzalez, who served on the board until approximately two years ago, was appointed by County Superintendent Mr. Thomas Dowd to fill the seat vacated by Board member Zecharia Greenspan. Greenspan resigned from the Board in July.

Gonzalez is among six others who filed to fill the seat. Yecheskel Seitler, Carl Fink, Susan M. Cauldwell, J. Michael Rush and former BOE candidate Assim Johnson also submitted resumes for the seat.

Gonzalez will only serve until January, when Greenspan’s term would have been up. She has also filed to run in the November 4 elections.
