A driver in Lakewood needed to be extricated from her vehicle this morning after her vehicle flipped, trapping her inside.
At approximately 6:40 AM, the vehicle veered off Shorrock Street and overturned into the woods, landing on its side.
Lakewood EMS extricated driver from the vehicle, and transported her to Ocean Medical Center in Brick with non-life-threatening injuries.
Admittedly, I was not there so I do not know what happened. I sincerely wish the driver a speedy recovery and hope that the insurance will cover everything.
I will say this, however, it seems to me that the vehicle veered to the right. This is the most common direction a vehicle will “lean” to when on the phone. I suspect that the driver hit the curb or some other obstruction for the vehicle to flip over on Shorrock which is a straight road. Perhaps she was avoiding an animal. Again, I wasn’t there.
We should all be aware that the police and insurance company can determine all the information necessary from the vehicle’s computer and person’s cell phone. For that reason, be completely honest with the police and insurance company.
