Maybe we should have had school and then fewer cars would be on the road using this as an extra shopping day before Pesach.
@Mama Bear
Are feeling okay???
Why do so many people NEED to travel in Lakewood?
Perhaps one of those accidents could have been a bus with a child you know on it! Be happy that those in charge are extra cautious when it comes to the safety of our children !
Mama Bear
What do you mean?
My wife had school and I doubt the parents were at work. If all schools were open…
Shame on you for ignoring the fact that there is a
State of Emergency. It would be dangerous as well as incredibly irresponsible to suggest that we put our children and other drivers at risk under these conditions. I pray that anyone who would even consider using this as a day to run errands rethink their plans and listen to authorities. Stay Home ….
There are dozens of accidents every day.
State of Emergency is announced for state/federal financial reimbursement reasons. It is not necessarily indicative of the severity of the storm..
we all need to listen to the local officials advise and stay home
i know people feel the need to get out of the house and “get some fresh air” after being cooped up all day so they will use any excuse whether legit or not to go out and drive
but when theyll get stuck if they dont have 4 wheel drive they’ll learn the hard way
if you need to get out for some fresh air and exercise shovel the path in front of your home youll have 1/2 the job when the snow is over
but dont drive!
I saw a large flatbed truck pass by my house this morning about 8:30 am with 2 heavily damaged vehicles. So the road conditions must have been nasty. I found my car encased in ice encrusted snow when I went outside this morning before 8 am to begin shoveling snow. I spent a total of 5 hours shoveling snow today during the morning and afternoon. Tomorrow there will be alot more to shovel.
The children are much safer on a bus than in a car
