Approximately 100 JCP&L customers remain without power this morning after a vehicle struck a utility pole, resulting in a fire which caused power outage in the surrounding area.

Route 9 remains closed between Chestnut Street and Yale Drive and drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Jersey Central Power & Light said it expects power to be restored by early this afternoon.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
