BREAKING UPDATE 8:40 AM: The two children injured in the boating accident have died, law enforcement sources told TLS. The boy and girl were ages seven and nine.
According to several readers – though not yet confirmed by law enforcement – the boat had struck a buoy in the water, causing them to be ejected.
Additional information is expected to be released later today.

Two children were seriously injured in a boating accident Sunday evening during which they were reportedly launched from the boat in Bayville, Ocean County.
The incident occurred on the water near Barnegat Bay, where first responders responded to reports of a boating accident involving multiple occupants. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the extent of their injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

RIP. May God comfort the loved ones during this difficult time. We were out on Cape May waters yesterday and shocked at how many bouys were barely visible until you were up on them.
An idea may be to have blinking solar LED lights on them. I’m sure they’ll take your comment into consideration.
