UPDATE – CHASDEI HASHEM: Sources tell TLS the Sefer Torahs were not directly exposed to the fire, and they’re expected to be okay.
UPDATE: The fire has B”H been extinguished, and they’re hoping the safe has withstood the fire.
Earlier report:
TEHILLIM: Crews are battling a structure fire at Mordy’s Shtiebel in Lakewood.
The fire broke out shortly before 6:00 AM.
Due to the flames, firefighters are unable to access the Sefer Torahs.

The fire of tefilla and torah that comes out of the shteible on a daily occurrence will never be extinguished. Let’s rebuild this makom torah utefiila that has 24 hrs a day shiurim learning davening. This flame will never be extinguished. There are well over 1000 people that connect to this makom daily. This will never stop the shchina from shining on thus heliga makom. So let’s get together and daven that it can be rebuilt.
A shul is always a wonderful thing, and we should support all Shuls.
But I have been in this Shul many times and it has been empty. During the afternoons there is nobody there, and i found it quite relaxing.
Wrong time and place for this comment. A little sensitivity is in order right now

Its not joke!
It was a shmatuh bi-level, but to rebuild today is no longer $200,000; it’s a million or more! I hope that it’s popular enough to raise such monies. See how important a good large fire proof safe is b”h . They should rebuild b’karov.
the main part of the shul is the Rav, and the Kehilla who follow him, who learn from him how to come closer to Hashem, and that is not only fire proof, that is actually true fire.
Thank you LFD for getting it under control pretty fast!
