PHOTO: A deer broke into a Lakewood Church overnight, causing ‘a bloody mess’  inside, police say.

At approximately 7:50 a.m. this morning, Officers Jason Yahr and Matt Mcavoy were dispatched to the Estonian Lutheran Church located on 7th Street to investigate the report of a deer who made entry into a first floor office.

“Upon arrival a caretaker, informed the officers that a deer had crashed through the office window and then proceeded to destroy the office, Detective Sergeant Greg Staffordsmith says. The deer left prior to the officers’ arrival.

“Further investigation suggests that the deer may have run into an exterior cinderblock wall causing it to become disoriented prior to crashing through the window,” Staffordsmith says.
