A pair of Tefillin mistakenly thrown out with the trash was located, thanks to the dedication of members of Chaveirim of Central Jersey and Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles.
A short time ago, Chaveirim was notified that a pair of Tefillin had been thrown out with the trash at BMG. They immediately got to work, and traced the trash to a large Township-owned bin.
With the assistance of DPW Liaison Mayor Coles, Chaveirim coordinated that the bin be brought to the DPW headquarters so it can be thoroughly searched – bag by bag.
After laying out dozens of bags, the members, together with Mayor Coles, started going through the trash.
About 20 minutes into the search, all applauded when the Tefillin was found intact.
”A big shoutout to Lakewood DPW, the Supervisors, the Mayor, and all who were involved,” said a Chaveirim of Central Jersey coordinator. “Their dedication is unparalleled.”

Wow! to even start such a daunting task! unbelievable!
It takes tremendous sensitivity and understanding of the community to understand how holy and important a pair of tefilin is. Ray is really an asset to the entire town. By the way, your comments on PG wachsman o”BM were really touching. Proud to have you as our mayor!
