  1. I am not so sure that he is testing out his policy.
It is very possible that his friend got married that evening and he was ” testing out” different drinks:
Single Barrel, Rum, blended whiskey, single malt whiskey, Japanese whiskey, Tequila and etc..

  2. Cyclist Blames Murphy’s Law For His Inability To Get Run Over By A Car And Test Out His Life Insurance Policy
A Lakewood Cyclist is blaming Murphy’s Law for his inability to test out his life insurance policy by riding into traffic and getting hit by a car.
“I must have rode my bicycle into traffic at least a dozen times over the past week or so,” the cyclist told reporters on Wednesday, “but the cars on the road keep missing me! I don’t know who else to blame – or what else to blame – for this strange phenomenon, other than Murphy’s Law! As Mr. Murphy once said, ‘Anything that can go wrong, WILL go wrong.’ And Murphy was 100% correct. No matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to get the cars to hit me!”
“I’d love nothing more than to get run over by a car, just to test out whether the crooks who insure me will pay up my life insurance policy,” he said, “but motorists are too busy talking on their cell phones, otherwise I’m absolutely certain they’d notice me and they’d do me the favor of aiming their cars towards me and running me over.”
“I mean, I would certainly never accuse motorists of being THAT evil that they would intentionally try not to run me over just to ruin my day,” he said.
“What can I tell you,” the dejected and unlucky bike-rider said. “I tried my best to get run over by a car, but it just wasn’t meant to be!”
