An overturn accident last night in Lakewood was caught on dashcam.
Video shows a first responder car slightly parked away from the curb as the member ran into a serious call.
Moments later, a vehicle can be seen driving down the road and clipping the front of the parked car, causing it to overturn.
No serious injuries were reported.
Please be extra careful during the pre Yom Tov rush.
I don’t know how that light hit managed to completely overturn that vehicle, but either way the streets here are way too narrow. Streets here that pass for two-way streets, are equal or sometimes narrower than the one-way streets in Brooklyn. I shouldn’t have to pull over to the side of the road just in order to make sure that another car can pass in the other direction when I’m in the old part of Lakewood on 11th street or in the general Squankum area, or really in the newer parts of Lakewood also. Some of these streets, with all their driveways, would be just fine with only allowing parking on one side of the street and it being enforced. Being from new york, I can tell you that there would still be enough parking spaces with just one side of the street available.
