This morning’s multi-vehicle accident in Lakewood was captured on the school bus’s dashcam video, and obtained by TLS.
The dashcam shows the school bus traveling on New Egypt Road shortly before 8:00 AM this morning, when a vehicle made a left turn out of a parking lot. The vehicle collided with another car, which then struck a parked car, and sent the original vehicle head-on into the school bus.
The driver of the silver car was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
I drive by that shul all the time and pray that I make it home safely. There needs to be 1 entrance to get into shul parking lot and 1 different exit out. People from that shul just dart out into the road all the time. There needs to be some action taken to make this a safer situation.
There are close calls there everyday. The exit from the Shul should be on Cory Ct only as it has a light.
Mm I think the proper way for the Honda to have navigated that route was to turn onto the left but onto the turning lane and not straight onto the oncoming traffic
A common misconception… Why blame the perpetrator? It’s the townships fault! How about don’t drive into other cars? But it’s the minhag haMakom! They are supposed to stomp on the brakes, or swerve away from Ani (haChoshuv).
The car parked on the right side is parked illegaly causing the driver making a left turn vision to be obstructed…
The driver view was obstructed by the truck that passed him.
And the black suv that the bus passed just before the crash should be ticketed for blocking traffic, Section 39:4-67.
Who is the person in charge of the infrastructure and traffic control in this town? Please send me his name and contact information. A lot of work needs to be done in this town regarding traffic safety. People still walking at night against traffic without reflectors, drivers speeding 40 mph on 25 mph roads, drivers pulling out into traffic thinking the stop sign is 4 feet ahead, drivers not stopping for pedestrians or letting them cross first at a green light before turning, and parking right near the curb. Time to teach people driving etiquette and some common courtesy to others. Just because you own a car doesn’t mean you own the road.
Good Luck with that, sir.
TS is 100% on target, its time for some stringent enforcement of the traffic laws in this town ,maybe once some of these reckless drivers get hit in the pocket book we will see some sanity with the everyday mayhem on the roads in Lakewood
Bring the state troopers into town permanently
The Wild Wild East.
Yee-Ha!
Probably nuch a Purim Katan breakfast.
why do so many of us think this is a joking matter? maybe the shul rabbonim need to speak about our halochic responsibility
I dread that stretch of road.
