ICYMI – DASHCAM: Tesla In FSD Mode Makes Left Turn on Red in Lakewood

ICYMI: Reader-submitted TeslaCam footage shows why drivers should never become complacent when using Tesla Full Self-Driving.

While stopped at a red light on Lanes Mill Road in Lakewood on Wednesday afternoon, the vehicle – still on FSD mode – unexpectedly made a left turn on red.

Per the owner, which can be verified by Tesla itself, there was no acceleration.

I got a Tesla last week and have been using FSD almost exclusively since then. Yesterday I was getting off the Thruway exit 14 and the light turned yellow. It was fully red for a while before I reached it and the car went through at high speed. It’s a very busy intersection. Really scary. I didn’t hit acceleration at all

Time to turn off self drive mode, and drive yourself.

I hope you get a ticket.

I’m assuming whatever this glitch was it only made the turn when it was all clear to do so. Still really bad, but not like there could have been a collision.

If it’s dark, the computer might not see a car coming.

Computers don’t “see”. They have sensors… and yes they work at night and in rain or snow…

Sensors amde by humans. HKB”H created humans to use their senses, not to create things that we want to think for us.

The Left is always causing problems in this country, which is why I switched to the Right years ago. Initially, I tried switching to the Center, until I reached a dead-end, which led me to veeer right. Some on the Left have accused me of turning on them. Oh well, it’s definitely a strange turn of events.

Maybe that’s why the car in front of me totally went on red when the other side got a green light first! Now I get it.

Except it wasn’t a Tesla…

No one uses FSD, besides that it costs several thousand per year. It also takes people the wrong way down one-way streets.
Question: Why didn’t the driver hit the brakes?

Because he wasn’t looking at all. Sadly, that’s what haooens when you turn over what HKB”H gave you, to a human creation.
