The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning parents to stop using bblüv Grow high chairs immediately, saying the restraint systems were not preassembled to the chairs, creating deadly fall and entrapment hazards.
The warning says the high chairs violate the federal mandatory safety standard for high chairs.
CPSC issued a Notice of Violation, but bblüv Group has not agreed to an acceptable corrective action plan. Because there is no recall, the agency is urging consumers to stop using the chairs and dispose of them. CPSC said not to sell them or give them away.
The chair has a gray plastic molded bucket-style seat with a matching fabric seat cover, a gray plastic tray and four wooden legs. It converts into a toddler chair, and the bblüv logo is printed in white on the front edge of the tray.
The chairs were sold by third-party sellers and on other websites. They were manufactured in China. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Anyone who experienced a safety incident with the product can report it to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.
