COVID19 HAS UNITED KLAL YISRAEL in unprecedented ways. We resolve to remain אחד בלב אחד כאיש in the way we protect the התורה לימוד of our children.

Torah Umesorah is working to address the educational needs we face at this moment. Our goal – to ensure that every Chinuch institution across the globe has the tools and support to continue teaching students outside of the school walls.

A SUPPORT AND RESPONSE SITE has been developed and is available through Chinuch.org. This site will assist educators and parents in managing this Chinuch scenarios by providing materials for download while students are at home. We thank the institutions and individuals who have shared their materials for this purpose. Our top priority is to maintain highest levels of kedusha in the homes. To that end, phone resources are being made available.

There are six sections on the website which contain valuable resources and information:

Chizuk & Perspectives: Chizuk in audio and video format from Gedolim, Rabbonim and health professionals, provide crucial guidance and perspective in these times of uncertainty.

Print and Learn: Grade level materials carefully selected by experienced educators to supplement your curriculum.

Learning Options for Schools: A directory of options for developing and managing programs for remote learning such as online and phone teleconferencing.

Additional Resources: A selection of learning resources from a variety of reputable sources.

Networking: Shared secure space for educators to share challenges and solutions.

Tehillim: A place for names to be submitted and recommended perakim in a printable packet.

We are grateful to announce the launch of the Chinuch Phone teleconference learning system in two incremental stages.

Stage 1offers every educator immediate access to a uniform teleconference system, easily managed by each school/teacher.

Stage 1 Features:

Teacher as host ensures a seamless listener experience; no beeps or ‘mute yourselves’ necessary.

Live option – this option records the class with playback access available for students who may have missed the lesson/review.

Pre-recorded option – teacher prerecords the class as an easy voicemail.

Stage 2 options will become available if remote learning becomes the school’s longer term plan. Features will be customized on the app level on an as-needed basis.

Stage 2 Features:

Data for every call – attendance, tracking student participation.

An interactive experience – opportunities to “raise your hand” with questions or respond to multiple choice

Automatic responses to data – email/text notification for missing students/number of participants
