If you see or smell smoke around Ocean County it’s nothing to worry about. The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department says the state Forest Fire service is managing the controlled burns in several areas around Ocean County today including Manchester, South Toms River and Stafford to control the growth of underbrush to prevent possible future fires, according to WOBM.
Black smoke could be seen rising into the sky in Toms River late on Sunday morning.
