Committeeman Lichtenstien: Throwing Plastics In The Fire Will Smother Fire

lichtenstien sign chometz sites_wmIn an effort to ease and enhance the Chometz burning process this year, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstien has arranged for all Chometz-burning sites to offer a designated disposal bin for all plastic bags and containers to be thrown into prior to the burning of the Chometz.

By putting plastics into the fire, says Lichtenstien, the fire will be smothered, making the process more difficult for the Fire Department, and will also prevent the Chometz from being burned properly.

The Committeeman therefore encourages residents to place their Chometz items in paper bags prior to burning. TLS.

  2. Just think – the fire department are VOLUNTEERS and are helping with the burning of the Chometz. They could be home with their families or at work. Their action lets the paid firemen be ready in case other calls come in. Be thankful for the LFD.
