The Christie administration has started showing the door to appointees of outgoing Gov. Jon Corzine. Top-level political appointees received pink slips Thursday. Maria Comella, spokeswoman for Gov.-elect Chris Christie, declined to say how many notices were issued. The dismissals are routine when any new governor takes office. They’re effective Jan. 19, the day Christie is sworn in as governor. Also Thursday, Christie announced the appointment of Gary Lanigan as his pick to head Department of Corrections. Lanigan is budget director for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He previously served as a deputy commissioner in the New York City Department of Corrections. AP
