On Monday, December 15th, the children of CHOP joined an exciting Chanukah celebration with Chai Lifeline New Jersey in the main Atrium at CHOP.
Under the direction of Rabbi Yisroel Braunstein, the children of CHOP built a six foot tall mosaic Menorah. In accordance with hospital guidelines, the Menorah was made with 100% Class A fire retardant materials – the only Menorah of its kind in the country!
The Menorah was debuted at the party on Monday, where the children enjoyed creating beautiful origami swans and watched a hilarious Chanukah comedy show by Camp Simcha counselors. A special Chanukah reading was broadcast across the hospital on Galaxy 51.
A beautiful Menorah lighting was held on Tuesday, December 16th, led by Rabbi Sruli Fried, Regional Director of Chai Lifeline New Jersey.
