Nothing to do with this incident. I was just driving down Madison, on 1 block there was a bike crossing against the light nearly hit, on the next block there was a pedestrian doing the same, on the next block there was a car making a left turn from the left lane when there is a turning lane and was nearly rear ended. That was just in a span of 60 seconds. No wonder why there are so many accidents.
Traffic is terrible off those streets….People must get off their phones and pay attention to their driving…..
Can somebody explain whose bright idea it was to put crosswalks on Madison Avenue by all the streets that don’t have a light. Do you think the traffic on a state highway is going to stop for some guy who puts his foot into the street? How long will it be before we have a calamity?
I used to have a service-based business in Lkwd, I used to drive locally, a lot. U go down any Ave in town, Madison, Lex, Clifton, whatever, in a busy time, k’mat Every street has a mofes, ppl crossing carelessly, people stopping 15 feet after the stop sign, ppl turning too early or too late, ending up in other lanes. There are 100s of open nissim every day on our streets. And we all know it.
Tonight at about eight fifteen, there was a whole group of kids playing in the street at Woodland Drive and a bus came rushing by, approaching a big turn. He almost ran everybody over driving so recklessly.. It was a big nes that everyone was still alive. Tomorrow night I will be out there by that bus stop and I am going to let that driver hear from me what’s coming to him. And then I will call the company.
Lakewood should be called the city of Lights, and City of congestion.
Soon to be announced 400 more additional cars will be able to aprk at the old little League field, presently there are 600 cars parked there daily and check the side streets, time to build high rise parking take it to another level folks, and traffic well, let the town fathers figure this one out, or the planning board.
Let’s face it. This town is a disaster!
the bus belongs in the street!! those kids do not! kids can play on the grass.
