The fire on Erev Shabbos destroyed a family’s home and nearly all their possessions, but the Chesed and Nosa Be’ol Im Chaveiro it brought forth was beyond remarkable.
From the moment the home went up in flames, there were already neighbors on the phone arranging for the family a place to stay, food, clothing and anything else the family could use during this dreadful incident, and the weeks and months that follow.
As earlier reported on TLS, stores immediately responded by offering to open up and provide anything the family may need, and the family was able to get shoes, clothing and more before Shabbos – all within hours of the fire.
In fact, there were so many people working to provide whatever assistance possible for the family, that two separate coordinated efforts resulted in double the amount of assistance needed for Shabbos.
The Aufruf went on, but this morning, the Baalei Simcha reportedly realized that all the food went bad due to a warmer issue. And yet again, on Shabbos, neighbors and friends scrambled to gather food from nearby Yeshivas and Shuls so the family’s Simcha can continue.
