Chai Lifeline NJ kicked off a mass volunteer recruitment campaign last night. Bochrim from local Yeshivas assembled in the Chai Lifeline office, and over Cholent and Kugel learned more about various volunteer opportunities.
Rabbi Sruli Fried, MSW, NJ Regional Director, spoke about the growing number of families in our local community who unfortunately are in desperate need of Chai Lifeline services.
Veteran Chai Lifeline volunteers, Shaya Leifer and Moishy Deutsch, spoke about what it means to be a volunteer; they gave practical advice, spoke about boundaries, guidelines, and how volunteers should conduct themselves.
Chai Lifeline is looking for dedicated male and female volunteers to fill positions in various programs, such as Big Brother/Big Sister, Transportation, Respite, Meals, and Events. With the incredible support of California Swirls, Chai Lifeline treated each volunteer who attended last night’s event to a coupon for a free cup of delicious frozen yogurt. These “Mitzvah” cards will be distributed at the female volunteer recruitment this Tuesday night, November 15th. The event will be held at the home of the Kaisman Family, 115 Arbutus, from 730-930pm. Chai Lifeline invites all post high school and 11th and 12th grade girls to attend this inspiring event.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering, or if you travel long-distance and would like to be added to the text messaging list, please email [email protected]
