CAUGHT ON VIDEO: Thief breaks into Circa Restaurant in Lakewood by shattering window

A burglar was caught on video busting open a window at Circa Restaurant in Lakewood, and emptying out the cash register.

The burglary happened around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, the shop told TLS.

After breaking open a circular window, the burglar can be seen running to the cash register and clearing it out before fleeing. He made off with a couple hundred dollars.

Circa’s owner tells TLS this is the third time a burglar hit the shop, though it’s unclear if its the same suspect.

Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CSI are investigating.

  1. He seems to know what he is doing. You generally need a code to open the registers these days but he seems to now how to get around that pretty quickly.

  2. I would not be surprised if this guy actually went to one of those urgent care clinics to check up on his bruises. He for sure got cut up on the glass. He is not Super Man.

  3. The guy looks like he was in a rush; he probably figured he only had a short window of opportunity to pull off the heist. At first glance, it looked to me like this guy was going window shopping, but when I saw him go to the cash register, I realized his sense of morality had gone right out the window. But you know how the old adage goes, “When the wolf comes in the door, love flies out the window.” Well, at least he had the decency to wear a face mask, which begs the question why he needed the facemask since there was no within 6 feet of him, or even a hundred feet of him, for that matter. He should have realized no one would be there at 3:00 AM in the morning. A good samaritan? Or just naive? Also,if he was there already, why didn’t he grab a quick bite? A good samaritan? Or perhaps he had a big midnight snack earlier? Or perhaps he doesn’t like to eat out? Who knows.
