Cash, Jewelry And Electronics Stolen In Home Burglary Over Shabbos

ciu_jf_tlsPolice are investigating a home burglary in which thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen. The burglary occurred on a home in the Brookhill area sometime over Shabbos, while the owners were away, sources tell TLS. The burglar made entry by cracking a front window and reaching in to unlock the front door, and then proceeded to empty the home of its valuables.

The burglar made off with cash, jewelry and electronics.

The homeowners made the discovery upon returning last night.

Sources say the home was dark, and the alarm was not set.

Lakewood Police and CIU are investigating. TLS-NN/TLS-CCP.

More Robbery will increased we need patrol over Shabbos and Weekdays… everyone should take turn 2 or 3 people should be on a shift and together we can protect our commuinty.. If we patrol and make a shift u are on… We have to join the Shomrim Patrol together we can make a different.. Are u all with me?? I wish to join the problem is I work all week and same as my wife. BMG guys should join these Patrol for 1 or 2 hrs as least for our commuinty

  2. to #3 u wish to join but u work all week? BMG guys shud join? Well guess what, BMG guys learn all week!!! So what’s the difference between u and them???!!!!!

  3. Welcome to Lakewood !! This is really sad , having an alarm system and not having it set ,well you might as well not even have one !
leaving lots of cash in your home makes no sense!
Stop making it easy for these thieves!!

  4. Hey #3 I understand you and your wife work, what do you think most of the LCSW members and their wives work as well. There will always be an some type of excuse, you work BMG guy learning, bottom line if you want to help you find a way to help. LCSW is a community organization trying to make Lakewood a safer, better community for everyone. It is everyone’s responsibility to try to help them and yourselves out anyway way you can. They can use you for a patrol of an hour a week or if you are to busy they can use money to help offset the cost of equipment for their members. Its your community, your family, you quality of life and your Lakewood at stake.

  5. i might be one who could join your LCSW …. im retired , ex military ,live in a house in lakewood, and would feel much more secure for all of US..who do i talk to….

  6. To Phoenix says:
    JANUARY 2, 2011 AT 2:29 PM
Blame DPW for this also. The streets were clean enough for this guy.

This is a county road DPW is not responsible to plow it. But the resident should have taken some precautions as well like setting the alarm

  7. the few police that are left where out answering the never ending calls for service, and help all weekend long. Just Because its your sabbath doesn’t mean that there are extra police to patrol. Fact is that has been stated here many times, that the police are mostly reactionary as their number are so low. but as long as people are going to complain all the time about taxes, no more will be hired until one of these BURGLARIES, not Robberies as everyone always states, when someone is killed or critically injured, then public outcry will out weight whiners whining and more police will be hired.

  8. HELLO!!! LAKEWOOD WAKE UP!!!

IT WILL BE A GREAT IDEA IF EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD COULD HAVE A PRIVATE PATROL . EVERYONE INCLUDING BASEMENT RENTALS WOULD CHIP IN. AND THIS WOULD SURELY MAKE IT HARDER FOR THEM.
