Camp Simcha without Borders Rocks New Jersey

Camp Simcha without Borders started with a bang this Sunday, bringing Camp Simcha’s trademark joy and spirit to 49 girls and boys in New Jersey who are battling lifelong or life-threatening illnesses.

The children, who spent the past 11 months dreaming of their summer at Camp Simcha, were greeted with electrifying music, whoops and cheers, and most importantly, unlimited acceptance and love.

“The smiles on the children’s faces said it all,” said Rabbi Aharon Koslowitz, Director of Programs and Volunteer Services of Chai Lifeline NJ/PA. “As they tumbled on moon bounces, splashed in the pool, or danced to Yoni Z’s spirited singing, the sheer joy and camaraderie was palpable.”

The girls program, which is taking place in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Yanky Weitman, and boys program, which is cohosted by Mr. and Mrs. Shalom Stein and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wassertheil, are running until Thursday afternoon.

“This magical experience means the world to these children,” said Rabbi Sruli Fried, MSW, Director of Chai Lifeline NJ/PA. “Thanks to the generous hosts, our hardworking staff and scores of dedicated volunteers, this week will boost their morale and encourage them to keep fighting, no matter what challenges come their way.”
