Since its founding in 2017, alongside the growth of the frum community in Flair, Jackson, a small group of dedicated families came together with a shared vision: to establish a makom tefillah rooted in Torah and ruchniyus. What began modestly has since developed into a vibrant and dynamic kehilla -and today, the community is ready to take its next step.
From the outset, the Bais Medrash of Flair has been guided by the leadership of the Mara D’asra, HaRav Eliyahu Meir Schmelczer שליט״א. A Talmud chacham and respected mechanech, Rav Schmelczer has provided clarity, warmth, and unwavering dedication, shaping the spiritual direction of the kehilla through impactful shiurim, personal guidance, and constant availability to individuals and families.
What started as a small Shabbos minyan has grown into a full and active Bais Medrash. The kol Torah is heard throughout the day, with daily minyanim, regular shiurim, ongoing learning initiatives, and Shabbos chaburos. The scope of learning spans iyun, halacha, mussar, and Chofetz Chaim, fostering a well-rounded and uplifting Torah environment. Simchos are celebrated together, Yomim Tovim are elevated through shared tefillah, and lasting connections are built within the kehilla.
Boruch Hashem, as the community has grown significantly, new challenges have emerged. The current space, which served the kehilla well in its earlier years, can no longer comfortably accommodate the expanding needs of the Bais Medrash. On Shabbos and Yomim Nora’im, capacity is often stretched, and throughout the week the demand for space continues to increase.
The Bais Medrash of Flair is now preparing to build a permanent home – a true makom kadosh – where Torah and tefillah can continue to flourish for generations to come. This new space will serve as a central gathering place for families, a foundation for chinuch, and a beacon of Torah-centered life in Flair.
