A woman was charged with stealing drugs from her place of employment, police say.
On Thursday, January 25, the Street Crimes Unit (SCU) received an anonymous tip that a female healthcare worker was stealing narcotics from her place of employment located in the area of Brick Hospital. Through investigative measures, the SCU was able to identify the suspect, Lauren Scholz, and her place of employment at the Vascular Institute at Atlantic Medical Imaging located at 495 Jack Martin Blvd.
On Friday, January 26, the SCU and patrol units responded to the healthcare facility and spoke with management. Further investigation confirmed that one -hundred flip top vials containing Fentanyl and forty syringes containing Hydromorphone (Dilaudid) were missing. Further investigation by the detectives lead to the arrest of Lauren Scholz and the recovery of the Fentanyl and the Hydromorphone.
Lauren Scholz, 37 years old from Brick, was arrested and transported to Brick Police Headquarters.
While in custody, Scholz was found to be in possession of one ounce of Cocaine and other drug paraphernalia. Scholz admitted to the theft of narcotics.
Scholz was charged with theft, Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Hydromorphone (Dilaudid), Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Scholz was processed and released on a summons pending a future court appearance.
If one hundred vials of Fentanyl and forty syringes of Dilaudid are missing, I would assume Scholz is a drug dealer. Why on earth was she released?
Because we are living in NEW JERSEY where criminals get sporting tickets when they come to court as an incentive. Why bother housing them on the citizens dollar, this is way cheaper. LOL
