BREAKING VIDEO: Fire rips through Lakewood home

A fire ripped through a Lakewood home this afternoon, sending an officer to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

The fire broke out at the Edgewood Street home around 3 PM, shooting flames from the home.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but the house was severely damaged.

The police officer was transported to MMSCC for treatment and expected to be released soon.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
