BREAKING: Authorities investigating shooting in Lakewood (VIDEOS-UPDATED)

Authorities are investigating a shooting in Lakewood this evening, officials confirmed to TLS.

The incident occurred around 9:45PM in an alleyway on MLK Drive.

Sources tell TLS the shooting may have been accidental.

Police say they have not received any reports of injuries, but are checking area hospitals. A child was reportedly just several feet away during the shooting, but was luckily not injured.

The alleged shooter is in custody.

Brick and Jackson police were called in to assist.
