Authorities this afternoon are investigating an armed home invasion, Detective Greg Staffordsmith confirms to TLS.
Shortly after 12 PM, two men armed with handguns allegedly broke into a Daniel Drive home and robbed the homeowners, sources say.
The men then fled the home with unknown proceeds.
Upon arrival, the first officer on scene witnessed two men running, and after they split up was able to apprehend one of them, sources say. He was immediately taken into custody.
Multiple officers swarmed the area, and after a brief search located the handguns allegedly used in the robbery, sources say. One of the guns was found in a nearby window well, and the other in a backyard of a nearby home.
CIU and Sheriff’s K9 dogs were called out to track the other suspect, but came up with negative results.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and CIU are investigating the incident.

How about when you report a story you give details such as where the crime takes place? What value is s story with no basic details?
In-between spruce and pine
The posting clearly states Daniel Drive
I was in the area after 2pm it was wild with CIU and K9 and county sherrifs all around. (moderated)
Do people really not read the full post? It says clearly Daniel dr. If you don’t know where that is look it up.
I want to know why people from other towns come to Lakewood to perpetrate a crime? This happens all the time. I think if we contemplate that point it may go a long way in fixing the problems we have here with “petty” crimes.
Bamachteres according to the Rambam. You know the rest.
Re “why people from other towns come to Lakewood to perpetrate a crime? This happens all the time”…
Unless you can provide statistics to confirm that Lakewood residents fall victim to disproportionately high percentage of out-of-town criminals, this is likely to be “observation bias”. Do you read say Toms River or Freehold news as frequently and attentively as you read Lakewood news? How likely are you to find out if a Lakewood resident commits a crime in Pleasantville?
Why wasn’t Spruce Street School put on lock down while they searched for these people if they had guns?
