Two banks in Toms River were robbed moments apart from each other moments ago, TLS has learned.
The banks, First Financial and Santander, are located near each other on Rt 9.
Authorities tell TLS they believe it was the same suspect who robbed both banks.
The suspect is being described as a white male approximately six feet tall, wearing a hoodie and a surgical mask.
He fled with an unknown amount of proceeds.

A white male who robbed two banks in Toms River on Tuesday while wearing a surgical mask has been apprehended by the police, according to dubious and uncomfirmed sources.
The surgical-masked-robber reportedly told police that he was a surgeon, who was in the midst of performing surgery earlier today when he realized he did not have all the surgical supplies that were needed to perform the surgery.
“So I drove down to the bank and asked the teller to withdraw whatever cash I had left in my bank account, so I could purchase the necessary supplies,” the surgical-masked, self-described surgeon told police. “But it wasn’t enough cash. I still needed an additional $30,000 to purchase all the necessary supplies. Time was of the essence, so I kindly asked the bank teller to fill up a bag with an additional $30,000 cash and to lay down on the floor face down. I warned him not to call the police until I called him back and informed him that the surgery was successful.”
“I then proceeded to rob a second bank when I realized I still needed more cash to purchase some anesthetics, because we had run out of the sleeping drug,” he said.
“Unfortunately, the cops nabbed me before I had a chance to return to the patient to perform the surgery,” he said. “I hope he’s okay. He was in extreme pain from an impacted wisdom tooth that needed to be extracted, and I’m pretty certain I was the only oral surgeon available in the office to perform the surgery.”

Correction:
I guess the cops are too busy coming to all the different accident scenes all over Lakewood. If we finally finally put down that phone while we are driving, then yes, then the cops will have lots of extra time to focus on protecting our banks.
I will tell you a little secret. The Lakewood Scoop does not report on every single accident. Some are minor and some are major. The Police must show up to all accidents, especially an electric pole smashed. Only a few days some of the traffic lights were not working. The police were there to help out.
Which Santander branch?
Giving out tickets for unsafe driving is the right thing to do. Have a meaningful Elul season.
There is not a single study showing that tickets are an efficient deterrent. In fact, multiple studies, including one done by the NIH shows the opposite.
