BREAKING UPDATE 9:56 AM: The shooting victim has died.
“Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Toms River Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred this morning at approximately 7:20 a.m., in the parking lot of the Wawa convenience store located at the corner of Route 37 and Garfield Avenue in Toms River,” OCPO stated moments ago.
“This is an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released when it becomes available,” Prosecutor Billhimer stated. “Anyone in possession of information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit at 732-929-2027 or the Toms River Township Police Department at 732-349-0150,” Prosecutor Billhimer concluded.

A person has been shot in Toms River this morning, TLS has learned.
The shooting occurred shortly after 7:20 a.m. at the Wawa on Route 37 East near Garfield Avenue.
According to initial reports obtained by TLS, two men were arguing in the parking lot when one of them, who was in a newer blue or black Acura, allegedly shot the other in the head.
The Acura then fled the area toward Garfield Avenue.
The victim was reportedly still moving following the shooting.
A large police, fire and EMS response was dispatched to the scene, with responding units instructed to block the entrances to the Wawa.
The victim is being airlifted to the hospital in unknown condition.

The Chofetz Chaim may his memory be blessed, he was very dissappointed and it bothered him a lot, if was someone was killed in a town that was even 1,000 miles away from his residence.
What a sick response… Someone is dead. Somebody lost a child, sibling, father, spouse….rest in peace
We care, but the question is how much do we have to know about gang activity, and we’d rather keep negative things away from ourselves as much as possible, as it can possibly minimize the seriousness in our eyes. But yes, as others are pointing out, we should take out a lesson. But the most important lesson is to be a nice, normal, caring person, so that things don’t get to the point of such craziness.
And I know I have to take out lessons too. With some things I’ve commented on (especially health matters), I didn’t realize how little others knew, so maybe I spoke a bit too sharply and it was a bit shocking for some. (And maybe a couple of comments about other topics, I didn’t understand exactly what was going on.) So, I ask forgiveness – especially now before Yom Kippur. Again, as I once mentioned, I’m not backing down from any of the factual points I mentioned, but maybe the way I said it was a bit tough, as I expected people to have done more research on their own, but they did not, as they perceived themselves knowledgeable if they’re following the drs./Big, Giant Pharma and Big Medical School etc. (See Dissolving Illusions dot com – and her two books, Mercola dot com, del Bigtree’s info, and the book by Dr. Peter McCullough etc.)
Coming back to shootings etc, the fact is that if something is evil, it’s important to be aware of that too.
Rabbi Avigdor Miller would quote the posuk/verse in Tehillim/Psalms from King David (97:10) ‘Ohavei Hashem sinu ra’ – Hashem/God loves those who hate evil. If something is actual evil, we must hate it – not just abstain from it. So, a shooting is most likely evil, unless it was a very real and necessary self-defense. But if the guy who got sot was involved in gang activity (I have no idea and know nothing at all about the story), that is evil too.
It’s theoretically possible it was an argument over a parking spot, and one may have made a bit of a threat, and the other reacted (which was weird, as did he really have to shoot? And if he was so innocent, he should have waited around for the cops), but most people are normal and don’t get into such heated arguments over a parking space.
May the victim have a complete recovery, and may anyone who should be brought to justice,

Probably over drugs and drug money. When I come back to Lakewood from Brooklyn after a hard afternoon & nights work (especially at my age) i sometimes get tired and I stop at Wawa’s which is the only thing open, sometimes it’s empty but not for long and I see the business in their parking lot at night. It’s good there is no Wawa in Lakewood.

I live across the highway from this Wawa. So many helicopters flying around, police cars marked and unmarked. All my neighbors are staying indoors for now. Schools keeping children inside only. Something like this affects everyone. I pray for everyone involved.

Yes.
I live in Lakewood, and I must say I’d say it does NOT matter; we respect all nationalities. Maybe each nationality has its uniqueness, but there are certain strengths, and the point is to develop them.
Just as with parents and children and older people and younger, and many contrasts, each one has what to offer, and when they work together, society functions normally.

This is not funny someone lost a family member because of this horrible situation 😭
