A man and woman, believed to be a couple, were found dead in their vehicle this morning in Lakewood from an apparent suicide – possibly via CO poisoning, sources confirm to TLS.
The vehicle was parked in their garage, and was found by someone visiting the Wellington Driver home shortly before 11 AM, officials say. The woman who located the couple immediately phoned for emergency services.
A first reponder entered the garage and discovered the pair in their running vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
“Preliminarily, it appears to be a suicide,” an official source told TLS.
The first responder was hospitalized after being exposed to Carbon Monoxide, an official confirms to TLS.
Lakewood’s Detective Bureau and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.
