Recently, a TLS exclusive investigation revealed serious allegations of illegal activity and the destruction of evidence and defying of a State Superior Court Judge by Jackson Township officials.
Now, these allegations have landed up in Superior Court.
On Wednesday, an action was brought before Judge Ford, against Jackson Township for “knowingly and willfully” destroying documents relevant to their ongoing lawsuit. The lawyers are pursuing legal action against Jackson, requesting of the judge to force Jackson to stop their destroying of evidence, as well as to sanction Jackson for the harm officials have already caused by their acts of spoliation, or destroying of evidence related to an ongoing judicial matter. Lawyers for Oros Bais Yaakov wrote that they wish for the Honorable Ford to halt Jackson’s “violative and irreparable actions” and that she slap monetary sanctions, or fines, for their illegal actions.
Janice Kisty, who is the Jackson Town Clerk, was the one who put in the request to destroy the records. She had already been deposed in the case, and certainly knew that the documents were indeed related to matters of litigation, the suit claims. Being that she is relatively new to her job, it is fair to assume that she is under a lot of pressure from those more powerful than her in Jackson’s government. If this is the case, who then instructed her to put in an illegal request to destroy evidence? Is she acting as a puppet of Mayor Mike Reina? Was she perhaps pressured by Council President Rob Nixon to get rid of the evidence?
And most important; will the Attorney General and the United States Justice Department, which are well aware of numerous actions by Jackson and Toms River officials to discriminate against Orthodox Jews, finally step in and act?
There are still many questions that need answering and the lawsuit brought Wednesday may help shed some light on the matter.

The township of Clifton just had to write a 3 million dollar check to settle a lawsuit ,because they didnt let a Shul build . It took 10 years but in the end ,all these townships end up paying out. I’m not sure if Jackson can afford to write out a check that size .
