A Jackson office is on lock-down this evening, and a crime scene has been established, TLS has learned.

Sources tell TLS there was a death in the building, though police could not release any information at the time of this posting.

One woman on social media wrote she could not leave the building “due to a death in the building”, and “police said the threat was neutralized.”

Multiple police and Sheriff’s Office vehicles have surrounded the building, and crime scene tape has been set up.

UPDATE: Chai Urgent Care, which operates at the building, released the following statement to TLS:

“Due to the lockdown in the building of our Jackson office, we will have to close for the night. We are happy to announce that all staff and patients are ok, and are out safely. We are sorry for all those that were locked inside for over an hour. We will be happy to accommodate everyone in our Lakewood location at 400 New Hampshire Ave. We look forward to being back to serve you tomorrow. Thanks for understanding.”
