The FDA has approved the first anti-viral pill to treat Covid-19 at home, and it could keep thousands out of the hospital.
Called Paxlovid, and developed by Pfizer, the drug is taken twice a day for five days in combination with another medicine called ritonavir, which is a generic antiviral.
Clinical trial found that Paxlovid was successful at reducing hospitalizations and deaths by 89% when taken within three days of the onset of symptoms, making it nearly as effective as the vaccines.
“Today’s authorization introduces the first treatment for COVID-19 that is in the form of a pill that is taken orally — a major step forward in the fight against this global pandemic,” said the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Dr. Patricia Cavazzoni. “This authorization provides a new tool to combat COVID-19 at a crucial time in the pandemic as new variants emerge and promises to make antiviral treatment more accessible to patients who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19.”
Dr. Cavazzoni worked as a psychiatrist in academic medicine and with Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies in various leadership roles before she started her career with the FDA in 2018 as a deputy director of operations for CDER.

The conspiracy theorists don’t care about lives. They just want to keep shouting about the evil big pharma taking over the world so that they can be rich. Guess what! It’s not a conspiracy. It’s the way capitalism works. Money is what motivated big pharma to develop life saving vaccines and now this anti viral pill, besides all he other life saving drugs and vaccines we have benefited from over the years. They make money. Our lives are saved. Sounds like a great conspiracy to me!
We already have a cure! It’s called hydroxycholorquine together with zinc etc. ALL studies on it were done WITHOUT zinc and at wrong doses….on purpose ofcourse as there is no money to be made on it.
The “good part” of covid is that now almost everyone sees how things work in the FDA and CDC and can draw their own conclusions with all other areas of health thereby saving their own health through natural means.

Besides trying to find a conspiracy, where there are none, what have YOU contributed to ending this pandemic, to prevent others from getting ill, or to help them recover faster?
As pointed out to you earlier, the only question is – will this medication save lives? Hopefully, it will do that, and people with breakthrough infectious will get better faster.
@me,myself&i, you have it backwards its big pharma and fauci that worked to ban all treatments for covid, because they couldnt make billions off it, they let tens if not hundreds of thousands die instead.
