BREAKING: Authorities Investigating After Laser is Pointed at United Airlines Plane Flying Over Lakewood, Apparently Mistaken For a Drone

Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer Issues Warning

Authorities this evening are investigating after a person in Lakewood shined a laser at a United Airlines plane, apparently thinking it was a drone, TheLakewoodScoop.com has learned.

The incident comes as the New Jersey continues to be plagued by unidentified drones, prompting frustrated New Jersey residents to shine lasers at them.

Local police reportedly received the call from the FAA, after they identified it coming from Lakewood.

Police were give the coordinates of the laser, and are investigating it, together with federal authorities.

TLS reached out to Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer for comment.

“The public needs to remain vigilant and report sightings to the FBI tip line and not take matters into their own hands,” Chief Meyer told TLS. The use of lasers and other means could pose a risk to aviation.”

Pointing a laser at an aircraft is a federal crime, and violators who shine lasers at aircraft face FAA fines of up to $11,000 per violation and up to $30,800 for multiple laser incidents.

The only ones that pass while in descent or ascent are miltary aircraft, the ones that aren’t military pass at full 30,000 feet cruising altitude.
So I, like @FAQ’s, wonder how a laser, even a professional one, made it that high.

Good lasers aren’t expensive these days maybe $10-$20, and lasers travel far at night even for a half decent one

I’ve had my eyes to the skies for nearly 20 years here in Lakewood.
I’ve only ever seen light aircraft and military transport planes.
I’m not doubting you about having seen United aircraft over Lakewood on Flightradar, but I’d question whether that was United operating military transports for some bureaucratic reason.
As far as I understand, there is a no fly zone for commercial aircraft near Macguire Air Force base.

If you ever checked flight radar, there are flight paths over Lakewood of flights going to Florida, Boston, New York, and South Carolina etc. and they’re usually at a higher altitude. The more visible aircraft we see at a lower altitude are generally military aircraft, medivac, and small single engine planes.

Depending on the flight pattern at Newark airport flights arriving from the Atlantic approaching Newark are flying over soutg Lakewood towards the wpest at about 5000 ft. At other times all the flights leaving from Newark flying towards Florida fly directly over lakewood along the 9 higher up at about 15000 ft.

About time to solve the root of the problem.
Foreign drones in NJ.
Those responsible, Wake Up!
Biden, Murphy, FBI, CIA, etc…

I’m not convinced they are foreign.
Considering as there have been similar incidents over the last year and a half or so (most notably in Virginia).
The government’s asinine response of “we have no idea what it is but there is nothing to be concerned about” makes me think that these are red team exercises.
This wouldn’t be the first such exercises in American history.

People are losing their minds about these “drones.”

What is more likely?

1. There are thousands of drones flying all over the East Coast, apparently the size of cars, but nobody can see where they took off from, nobody can see where they are landing, they only show up at night, they are undetectable in all the normal ways, they is no satisfying explanation for why anyone would do this, and there are few if any clear videos.

2. There is gossip about drones, so thousands have people who know little about aviation or astronomy are looking at lights in the sky and seeing what they’ve been primed to see (like these optical illusions), when they are actually just airplanes, stars, planets, or helicopters.

I suggest you look up the 1954 Seattle windshield pitting “epidemic.”

I’ve personally been on a flight from Newark to Tel Aviv that flew over Lakewood.

Ewr’s approach path runs along the west side of nj, Incoming EWR flights from south america, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic etc.. join that path by heading west over seaside heights area , then toms river and so on. occasionally, they will do that, a little more north by going over point Pleasant, then lakewood and so on.

At approximately 5000 feet

Dream on with your 5000 feet. That’s final approach level. Within 10 miles of the run way. It also depends on which runway is in use.

Last 10 miles is under 2000 ft

US Airforce Receive Orders To Shoot Down Suspicious Rays Of Light From The Sky After A Strange Beam Of Light Was Spotted In NJ Skies
The US Airforce has received direct orders to shoot down highly suspicious laser beams from the NJ skyline after a strange beam of light was recently spotted in NJ airspace.
“We may never discover the source of those suspicious drones flying over NJ, or where they’re coming from,” a senior WH official told the Military Times Saturday evening. “However, we’ve got complete confidence in our ability to pinpoint the source and the exact coordinates of those strange-looking laser beams, and to obliterate them from the skies!”
“Suspicious drones – and locating the place of origin of those drones – is not our specialty, nor is it the specialty of the US Airforce, or the FBI or the NSA for that matter,” the White House official asserted, “but laser beams, and locating the place of origin of those laser beams, is definitely our specialty, hence we are fully capable of snuffing out the source and the exact coordinates of those laser beams within seconds, and to bomb the laser beams into complete obliteration.”
“Sadly,” he conceded, “those strange drones flying over NJ will likely remain a permanent fixture in the Jersey skyline,” he said, “because the WH, the US Airforce and US intelligence agencies are not equipped with the scientific knowledge to locate where those drones are coming from. However, we definitely have the technical know-how to locate the source of those strange-looking rays of lights, and I promise you those strange lights will be shot down from the skies before you can say the words, ‘Suspicious drones overhead!’ “

There’s this drone that’s been hovering in the sky near my house, in the SAME SPOT, for the LAST 3 NIGHTS!

they have a more mature attitude and don’t call 911 for every blinking light from down below so there’s a lesser risk of an unnecessary emergency landing due to a suspected “earthling lightsaber” attack from a few miles down.

People should be more attentive to things happening on the ground in front of them, not in the sky.

Over 200 pedestrians have been killed in NJ this year. None of them by drones.

FAA can track down a kid with a laser in his backyard , Lakewood NJ
but huge military quality drones , hundreds of them for an entire month, they can’t track the source.
My friends , we are being lied to once again by this Govt. It’s lie after lie after lie. There’s is nothing this govt says that’s the truth
