Christopher Green, wanted in connection with a series of burglaries spanning Lakewood and Toms River Townships, has been apprehended. The arrest, which took place on May 1st, culminates a multi-agency effort to apprehend Green.
Between March 30th and April 6th, Green was allegedly involved in over 15 burglaries that occurred in both Lakewood and Toms River, on at least one occasion he was armed with a handgun. Additional information developed by Lakewood Detective Kevin Donnelly and Toms River Detective Jesse Robertazzi identified residences in Toms River and Neptune, as well as several motor vehicles associated with Green.
Court ordered search warrants were executed, resulting in the recovery of proceeds taken from several of the burglaries. Additionally, authorities seized four firearms, including an AR15 and a sub gun.
Green now faces a total of 17 criminal charges, including 1st Degree Robbery, 2nd Degree Armed Burglary, Conspiracy, and multiple weapons-related offenses.
“The Lakewood Police Department would like to thank the Toms River Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Neptune Township Police Department, and the New Jersey State Office of Parole for their assistance in this investigation,” the LPD said.
“I am proud to say that our Detectives have spent countless hours working very diligently on these cases to make this arrest, and if it were not for this, there would still be an armed person breaking into homes in the middle of the night,” Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer tells TLS. “This was an excellent example of police investigation 101 all while using all of the current technology available to them.”
