Big Losers to Be Awarded Tonight; Biggest Loser to Win $25,000

Fifty participants will gather tonight in celebration of the highly anticipated Weigh-out event from ‘Lose 4 Autism’. The participants had spent the past 120 grueling and invigorating days challenging each other in a marathon weight loss program.

Each participant fund-raised sponsorships per lb lost, with the full amount donated to Imrei Binah – an innovative and highly effective program for the autism population of Lakewood. Lose4Autism – where the greatest loser is also the greatest winner – proved to be a resounding success in this inaugural year.

The weigh-out event is to be held Citron & Rose the new award winning restaurant in lower Merion, PA.

Together, the participants raised close to $180,000 and lost a doctor’s delight total of 2,500 lbs. The average weight loss was 50lbs.  With participants nationwide expected to attend, the excitement is palpable as different levels of winners’ prizes are to be awarded. Crystal tribute plaques will be handed out to losers of 25+ lbs.

One winner, who loses the greatest percentage of weight, will be awarded the grand prize of $25,000.

A second prize winner will be awarded $10,000.

The three monthly winners will win $2,500 each.

Chai Club member Yanky Judowitz won the flight to Eretz Yisroel in recognition of being the first to raise $10,000. To date he has already raised $18,000. The other Chai Club member contesting for this award was Tzali Chopp.

Shmuel Lubin sponsored a trip for two to Miami during the one-day promo event. The prize was won by Binyomin Shulman, who raised $2,000 during that day.

For raising more than $10,000 during the last three weeks, $10k Club Member Daniel Glenner (Glens) won $2,100 at the Hat Box.

60 $100 Hat Box gift cards were awarded to participants who raised over $500 during the last three weeks of the program.

With 50 triumphant members, the Lose4Autism luxury coach will leave Lakewood at 6:30 to celebrate their wins and make up for their loss! 5 of the contestants lost a whopping 75 pounds each! Tonight will reveal the real weight loss winner and he will be awarded the grand prize of $25,000.

  1. Would love to hear how most averaged 50lbs loss over 4 months. You cannot lose more than 2lbs of fat per week. More than that and all you’re doing is losing muscle mass, bone density and glycogen. This is very unhealthy and potentially dangerous over an extended period of time. Plus fast lose usually ends up fast gain, so let see if these guys keep it off. I’d be more impressed to see true fat loss over a year period with correct balanced meals and daily exercise.

  2. The prizes in total (trips, gift certificates, cash, etc) equal almost half the money raised….
Plus the kick off party, ending party, and awards.
How much was actually raised when it was all over?

  3. To m – thanx for ur negative comments. Ur math is also pretty bad. I was part of this program, it was amazing. People went out & raised serious money for a serious cause. And, btw, most, if not all, of the prizes were sponsored. Thanx, R’ Zalmy & R’ Moshe for a wonderful campaign. Kudos to Tzally C., Yanky J & glens for their immense effort for this cause. Hatzlochah Rabbah. DB.

  4. I am thinking about running a GAIN-a-Thon!! Supper every nite at a different resturaunt.
    Sunday: Glatt Bite
    Monday: D-Lux
    Tuesday:Yossi’s
    Wednesday: Kosher Taco
    Thursday: Glatt Gormet
    Friday: You choose
    M.S.: J2

    Any Takers?

  5. @ jog-a-thon Rules

I’m sorry. I”m not hating. Just sometimes I see as much money spent on a fundraiser as it brings in. Unfortanetly, sometimes, fundraising has become a business of its own.

    My math was:
    25,000 (grand prize) + 10,000 (second prize) + 7500 (monthly winners)
    + 4,000 (flight to eretz yisroel) + 2,000 (trip to Florida) + 2,100 (hat box) + 6,000 (hat box gift cards) = 56,600

You are correct. It is about 31% of the money earned (not including start and end parties, advertising, etc), not 50% like I originally said.

I guess 30% is normally what is paid to fundraisers, so if that is the amount spent its not too bad.

  6. To m you would b right but in this scenario its a double chesed as the fact so many people lost weight and are healthier is a great if not greater chesed in its own right and the best 56000 investment possible

  7. Stop assuming a great party a great program led by r Zalmy who took matters into his own hands and changed the world started a Mossad the night was about the money raised for the Mossad
We need many more of r Zalmy

  8. The trips to Israel,Florida, hat box,and before and after parties were all donated by corporate sponsors so you’re math is totally off. That money was not part of the 180k collected

  9. You with all your numbers thinking you have it down pat why don’t you show your numbers and prove your bussiness is profiting. Stop convincing your self your still in the investment stage.

  10. i lost 47lb and went to the gym all the time and no i did not lose muscle i gained muscle
