A new scam is targeting Lakewood residents, this one claiming to be a ‘student loan forgiveness’ program, residents tells TLS.

The caller asks the intended victim for their personal information, claiming they need the information to ensure their eligibility and more pertaining to the loan forgiveness of approximately $10,000.

But should you ask the caller(s) for information or proof of their claim, they quickly hang up.

Beware, you will generally not receive calls from people or ‘organizations’ offering to give you money.
