A shooting in Lakewood has left one person injured, TLS has learned.

At around 10:00 PM last night, authorities in Toms River received a call from a passenger in a vehicle stating someone was shot. They believed the shooting occurred in Lakewood.

Police tell TLS they responded to the street they believed the shooting happened, and residents in the area confirmed they heard gunshots a short time prior.

A short time later, the gunshot victim was brought into Community Medical Center in Toms River and treated for his non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police are investigating.
