Authorities Investigating Fatal Accident on Rt. 9 in Howell; Multiple Injured [PHOTOS]

Authorities are investigating an early-morning accident in Howell that left one dead and multiple others injured.

The accident happened shortly before 3:00 AM at the intersection of Rt. 9 and Aldrich Road.

Emergency personnel extricated one patient from the heavily-damaged vehicle.

One person, a Lakewood man, was pronounced deceased on scene, and the others were hospitalized. Information on the extent of injuries was not immediately available.

Howell Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit, along with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the accident.
