AUDIO: “The rock concert noise I’m hearing at 11:35PM”; Officials respond

rock[AUDIO BELOW] [UPDATED] Somerset Walk and other resident in the Pine Street area and beyond are furious with the noise level coming from the rock concert at the stadium.

Officials say this is not the first time they had a concert, but for some reason they turned up the volume this time.

In response to numerous complaints, elected officials went down to the stadium together with police to enforce the noise level ordinances.

With regards to the complaints people had with permits, the stadium does not require a permit for the concert, but they did receive a state permit to serve extra alcohol.

Since the announcing of the concert, police worked on security and traffic concerns, officials say.

For further events, they have agreed to turn speakers away from residential neighborhoods, officials said.

  1. You bought a house near a stadium. I’m not sure what you were expecting. It’s like moving near an airport and complaining about planes taking off.

  2. a big shout out too all our askanim and politicians that let this happen!! even over a mile away …..
Thank you we had a nice shabbos and enjoyed the music
i hope the $ funds some bussing

  3. I hear it in beacon ridge. How did they get a liquor licence. Whos getting the money. They were thrown out of egg harbour last year. I’m bewildered

  4. I live on Sunset Road and Central Ave. I hear it too more then 2 miles away. And just because someone bought a house near a minor league baseball stadium it doesn’t justify all the noise going on late at night and on a weekend. Baseball is usually played during the day and definitely not with blaring load rock and roll music. For some reason three other stadium’s were asked to host this Rock Music festival and they refused but for some reason our township officials felt compelled to acquiesce and allow it. I wonder what they received in exchange for allowing it to happen in Lakewood.

  5. There is no need for everyone to start complaining about a rock and roll concert that is going on. In fact when was the last time there ever was a concert hosted in Lakewood. It is no worse than Purim when the whole town is blasting music from their vehicles driving around. People normally have concerts on the weekend so everybody can come out and watch and have a good time after a long week of work. By having concerts like this you bring more people to THIS town at which helps the revenue of businesses and stores in that area.

  6. For those who commented that we purchased a home near a stadium: I live in Somerset Walk, which is approximately 3/4 of a mile away (direct line, it’s longer with the roads), though the noise prevented me from falling asleep Friday night at 12:30AM. The video may not do justice, as it is a recording. For those who want to know what it sounded like here, imagine a car driving by, windows shut, with blaring music inside, to the extent to you turn to see what the source of this noise might be. That’s what it sounded like all Friday night and Shabbos afternoon.

  7. So because 2/3’s of the town are on Shabbos the rest of the town and people coming in and spending money is not allowed?? Come on..Really

  8. It was one night and it was noise. This is America in case anyone forgot. Complain all you want; they followed the rules and got the required state Permit. For the comment about what the band looks like – shame on you. Weren’t you ever taught “don’t judge a book by its cover”?.

  9. Thank you Lakewood for hosting a great family event. Carnival rides for the kids, food trucks and music for all.
I’d rather hear the music then the normal gun shots and sirens Lakewood is famous for. Curfew was 11:30pm and adheard to. Sorry you dont appreciate what others do and those of you who judge the concert goers by looks shame on you.
No fughts, no arrests, no drunks and no damage.
Promote your town and think of growing and being open minded.
    Wait for this weekends concert.

  10. To #17 – not a very nice thing to say. Same can be said about many in this town, including yourself. What does the way anyone prefers to dress have anything to do with anything.
