  1. hope everyone is okay!

What on EARTH was that green car doing on the wrong side of the road, causing the head on collission with the county pickup truck, and then the red van to rear end him. It’s so frustrating when accidents like this are caused by stupid, bad, inconsiderate, distracted driving.

  2. #1 read the article again, the count truck struck the vehicle head on. Using brain power and common sense if there is enough force, and from the looks of it there was, the little car probably bounced about out of the normal lane. the red van might have been to close, more then likely was, and thats why it rearended the county truck. look thru the pictures and you can basically recreate what happened by looking at impacts closely. but you have to have some knowledge first.

  3. It does not state which vehicle caused the accident. It simply just says that the county truck hit the other car head on. No where does it say that he crossed the line causing the collision. So at this moment either one of them could be at fault missy. Id put my money on the green car crossing the line though.

  4. If the county truck hit the vehicle head on, one of them was on the wrong side of the road… since both vehicles are mostly on the right side, common sense would say the county truck was headed in the right direction, while the greeen car, for whatever reason, crossed over the double yellow lines, hence the head on collision.

  5. well I just hope everyone is ok!!
again everyone is just focusing on the wrong details over how the accident occured!!
just pray that everyone is ok and they should have a speedy recovery.

  6. “The accident occurred at about 9AM at the Lakewood-Dover border”

There is no such thing as the Lakewood-Dover border as Dover Township no longer exists, it is the Lakewood-Toms River border…..I know I’m just being nit-picky.

  7. Unless one actually witnessed the whole scenario play out it is extremely difficult to figure out what the heck happened. That is why they are called “accidents.’ Let this be a reminder to all drivers to keep their eyes on the road and drive with caution. A life can be snuffed out or changed forever. Let’s hope that all involved recover quickly.

  8. The green car hit my moms car head on after swerving into her lane. He flipped her car three times and then he went on to hit the truck. Please do not leave negative comments. My mom and dad were cut out of their car and she is fighting for her life right now. Prayers are welcome.

  9. Diane:
Thinking of you and praying for you! I work in a trauma center and I see miracles happen all the time – hope your family is blessed with a miracle or your own! Best wishes!
To everyone else: Yes, it’s hard to re-create an accident from pictures. Accidents happen. We all make mistakes while driving. Let’s not take every news of an accident as license to find fault when we don’t know the whole story…

  10. To Diane:

Prayers are in effect! This is why I dislike having to read conclusions from parties that have no idea what happened! Think before you post, no one knows the pain that could be involved! My prayers to you and yours!

  11. To #6

Its not hard to be confused, after all the fire trucks in those pictures all say “Dover Township” not “Toms River”. They changed the name of the town 6 years ago and they’re still having an identity crises.

  12. This street has needed a light for many years. Can you imagine someone saying they did not have enough fatals to warrant one! They pass a bill for road rage but can’t put a traffic light to help slow down traffic. My prayers are with the people involved. I say mine each day passing this street.

  13. I hardly think traffic lights would have helped in this situation. Diane, hope and prayers are going out to you and your family right now. You are absolutely right about leaving negative comments. Unless you people saw what happened and know all of the facts, keep your opinions to yourselves.

  14. Diane,
Our prayers are with you and your family for a speedy recovery of your loved ones. We also pray for all of the people involved in this tragic accident.

  15. I travel that road , I know how bad it is, hope something will be done
soon, put up a regular trafic light, not one of those blinking lights, they are worse.

I pray for God to give you strenghth to cope, and for your parents
    to recover completely.

  16. To Diane:: My intentions were not to leave a negative comment. On the contrary, I simply wanted to emphasize the importance of responsibility that comes with driving. I sincerely apologize if you mistook what it was I was trying to convey. I think it is safe to say that everyone who has read the article has you and your family in their thoughts and prays that your mother will have a complete and full recovery.

  17. Diane

My prayers are with you and your family – especially your mother. My father was the driver of the county truck – he is so lucky and thankful. The man who caused this accident has caused so much pain and suffering for so many. I hope everyone can find some peace. Know that my parents and my family continue to pray for all of you. Please know that others are sending prayers for your mom – God Bless.
